But he isn't done with mixed martial arts just yet.

The 42-year-old heavyweight understands his combat sports career won't last forever,

But he still wants to compete in MMA at least once more after his release from the UFC in 2021.

Overeem quickly signed with GLORY kickboxing after leaving the UFC

But an injury stopped him from meeting heavyweight champion Rico Verhoeven in his return to the sport.

According to Overeem, a persistent back ailment forced him to withdraw from the fight

And he'll now face former rival Badr Hari in October after the two divided their K-1 bouts
