Apple unveils M2, taking the breakthrough performance and capabilities of M1 even further

M2 gives the newly redesigned MacBook Air new levels of power-efficient performance and capabilities.

The M2 chip begins the next generation of Apple silicon designed specifically for the Mac.

It also has 50% greater memory bandwidth than the M1, as well as up to 24GB of rapid unified memory.

M2 is made with second-generation 5-nanometer technology and has 20 billion transistors, which is 25% more than M1.

Apple’s powerful ProRes video engine enables playback of multiple streams of both 4K and 8K video.
