Backstage News On Riddle & Shinsuke Nakamura’s WWE Tag Title Shot
According to Dave Meltzer on the latest episode of "Wrestling Observer Radio," Riddle and Shinsuke Nakamura's impending Undisputed Tag Team Championship bout will not take place at WWE Hell In A Cell.
The team defeated The Usos through disqualification on WWE "Raw" this week after Jimmy Uso attacked Riddle with his scooter, officially establishing Riddle and Nakamura as the number one contenders.
However, it looks that the arrangements for that title battle do not include a date this Sunday.
Instead, the match is set to take place on July 2 at WWE's Money In The Bank in Las Vegas.
The forthcoming premium live event has been rescheduled to a smaller venue after WWE revealed that it would no longer be held at Allegiant Stadium as previously stated, but rather at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
Roman Reigns was supposed to defend his WWE Universal Championship Tom Riddle at Money In The Bank, then against Randy Orton at WWE SummerSlam, and finally against Drew McIntyre at WWE's Clash At The Castle in Wales,
While the battle with Riddle isn't necessarily off the table, it isn't likely to happen anytime soon, at least not at WWE's Money In The Bank.
This could also indicate that Reigns will not be appearing at WWE's Money In The Bank, considering he is now on a lesser schedule.
When WWE confirmed the location change, the Tribal Chief was removed from the advertisement, which could explain why the match between him and Riddle is no longer scheduled.
Riddle and Nakamura would then be able to compete for the Unified Tag Team Championships at Money In The Bank instead.
Both guys are competing for their individual tag team partners, Rick Boogs and Randy Orton, who were wounded in fights against The Usos and are currently on the shelf.
There are currently no WWE "SmackDown" matches set for this weekend at WWE's Hell In A Cell, but as is often the case with WWE, things can change, and the blue brand's farewell show is still to come.
