'Star Wars' stands up for ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ actor Moses Ingram after she got racist messages

Moses Ingram plays Reva in the new "Star Wars" series "Obi-Wan Kenobi".

This week, she posted screenshots of racist comments about her on Instagram.

"We are proud to welcome Moses Ingram to the Star Wars family," the account says.

#BoycottStarWars VII trended on Twitter after casting of John Boyega.

Boyega, Kelly Marie Tran got negative reaction from fans when they were cast.

Disney did not immediately respond to requests for comment about previous racist comments directed at other "Star Wars" stars.

Kelly Marie Tran played Rose Tico in "Star Wars: Episode VIII — The Last Jedi".

She experienced racist attacks after the film's release.

Tran left social media after the backlash became so intense that she feared for her mental health.

Boyega said Disney knew "what to do" with Daisy Ridley and Adam Driver.

“I’m the only cast member who had their own unique experience of that franchise based on their race,” Boyega, who plays Finn in the latest films in the franchise, said in a 2020 interview with GQ.
