Stephanie McMahon's name has been in the news again this week

With Business Insider posting an article claiming that the former WWE Chief Brand Officer was fired rather than taking a voluntary leave of absence.

WWE allegedly planted the article, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer

It was supposedly an attempt to bury Stephanie, with Meltzer speculating that something must have happened between McMahon's announcement of her departure on May 19

The publication of the piece to prompt WWE's move.

According to Fightful Select, persons who were engaged with WWE prior to Nick Khan's ascent to prominence have stated that Vince McMahon did not orchestrate his daughter's exit

While there were some difficulties with Stephanie's performance as CBO (Business Insider mentioned WWE's low corporate sponsorship revenue compared to the UFC)

They weren't enough to lead to "her position being terminated."

Stephanie made the choice to leave WWE, whether temporarily or permanently, according to Fightful and Meltzer.

McMahon continued to receive production emails until this week's edition of Raw

when she was removed from the list as a precaution.
